Step 2: After that, log in to your TP-Link range extender device using the IP address you have configured during the first-time setup of your device. You can also use the default IP address 192.168.0.254 to log in. 

Step 3: Thereafter, go to the settings and then tap on the system tools.

Step 4: Next, tap on the backup and restore option from the menu's left pane.

Step 5: Choose the factory restore option to perform the factory reset of the TP-Link WiFi range extender. 

Step 6: A pop-up message will be displayed on the screen saying, “Do you want to perform factory default settings”? Tap on the Yes button to proceed further. 

Step 7: The TP-Link extender starts rebooting with the factory default settings and a new name for the WiFi.

Step 8: Make sure to check the WiFi signals to confirm the WiFi booster device factory reset has been done successfully. 


Steps to Hard Reset TP-Link Range Extender 

Most of the time, the hard reset is done when the user forgets the login credentials details of the extender after the setup process, such as username, password, IP address, etc. Here are the steps for the hard reset of the TP-Link range extender:

Step 1: Firstly, plug the TP-Link extender into the electrical socket and wait for some time until it turns on completely.

Step 2: Take a paper pin or needle or any sharp object to press the reset button on the TP-Link range extender. It is located at the backside of the extender.

Step 3: Press the reset button for 1 second and see if your extender will start rebooting.

Step 4: Wait for some time until the rebooting is completed. Ensure that the wireless signals display the default SSID name.
