Step 3: After that, connect your computer, laptop, or any networking device to the default WiFi network name of the Netgear extender, i.e. NETGEAR_EXT.

Step 7: Enter the IP address 192.168.1.250 in the URL bar of the internet browser.

Step 9: Tap on the new extender setup option, where you will ask to create an account. Enter your name and all other information in the respective fields.

Step 10: Click on the Next button to go ahead, and your device will start searching for the available wireless networks nearby you.

Step 11: A list of available wireless networks is displayed on the screen. Choose the appropriate wireless network and enter the password for it. 

Step 12: If your Netgear router supports the dual-band technology 5 GHz, repeat the above steps again. 

Step 13: Hit on the Next button, and it will start applying the settings that will take less than a minute depending on the network speed and the distance between the Netgear range extender and the router. 

Step 14: Your system will show the Netgear extender wireless network name after the setup of your new wireless network name. It looks the same as your main router’s wireless network name.

Step 15: Unplug the extender and move it to the location where you face a poor WiFi connection.

Step 16: If you want to get the optimum speed, place your extender away from the interference-creating objects such as Bluetooth speakers, microwaves, etc.
