But before that, you have to connect your device to the Netgear_Ext or can connect your computer to the extender through the Ethernet cable. 

Step 3: Once you are connected then launch any internet web browser of your choice from your device.

Step 4: After that, enter mywifiext.net or the IP address 192.168.1.250 in the address bar of the web browser. 

Step 5: Now, you will be redirected to the Netgear offline page for the new extender setup. 

Step 6: Tap on the new extender setup and it will ask you to create an account where you need to enter your name and the other information according to the input fields. 

Step 7: Once done then tap on the Next button to proceed further. Now, your system will start searching for the available WiFi networks nearby you. 

Step 8: Next, a list of the available WiFi networks will be displayed on the screen.

Step 9: From the displayed list, you have to select the network name of your router and enter the internet password.

Step 10: If your router supports the dual-bandwidth technology 5GHz then repeat the above-mentioned steps. Tap on the Next button to go ahead. It will apply the settings within a minute depending on your network speed and the distance between the extender and router.

Step 11: Now, your system shows the Netgear extender WiFi network name after setup which is the new WiFi network name. It looks the same as that of the wireless network name of the main router.

Step 12: Unplug the extender and move it to the location where you have a poor wireless connection.

Note: To get the optimum speed, you are required to place the extender away from the big appliances that create interference with the signals of the Netgear WiFi range extender. Remember to place your device halfway between the router and where you face dead WiFi zones.
