Method 1: Reset the WiFi extender

One of the best solutions to resolve the WiFi extender not working issue is by reset the WiFi extender. For this, you have to press the reset button. The location of the reset button will vary depending on your WiFi extender brand. Usually, it is situated back of the extender and nearer to the Ethernet cable port. Press the button using a needle and wait for some time. Turn it on again. This process will delete all the settings made by you previously and allow you to modify them.

Method 2: Forget the network from your system

  • Press both Windows and I keys at the same time to open the settings.

  • Choose Network and Internet options.

  • From the left pane, you have to select WiFi.

  • Tap on the Manage known networks.

  • Next, hit on the WiFi repeater or extender option and click on Forget.

  • Now, the network will disappear from the list. You have to go to the right corner of the taskbar and press the WiFi icon.

  • At last, you have to search for the repeater’s network and try to connect with it.

Method 3: Ensure WiFi repeater is on the same network

Check the router’s SSID and then check whether another similar network is available or not through another device. To change the settings, you are required to access the IP address for your router provided by the internet provider through the PC's browser. The IP address for the extender and router will vary depending on the manufacturer's company. You need to check the internet provider for more details.

Method 4: Check the hardware issues

Physical hardware issues can occur on any device. WiFi extender is one of the devices among them like the Ethernet port is broken. You need to look at the extender front and you will see many LEDs. Ensure that all the LEDs are turned on and the right color is indicated on the device manual. Also, the color should be white, green, or yellow.

In case, no LED light is on then there may be a possibility that your device is broken and there is an issue with the charger or the power outlet. To fix the issue, check the power outlet with some other device and see whether it is working properly or not.
